Minty Fresh

Here’s a sketch that one of my students made in class today. I actually don’t mind when my students doodle in class — mainly because I’ve read in the past that many people process information more effectively when they doodle. And when my students flatter me with drawings in which I appear especially trim, then so much the better!

In case the words are too small to see, the dialogue bubble reads, “Is your breath going to be minty fresh?” The reason I asked this question in class (in case you’re wondering) is that I caught one student passing a piece of gum to another. I wanted to let the students know that they’d been caught, but I also didn’t want to make too big of a deal out of it, so I asked the first question that came to mind.

It’s actually a pretty good likeness.
